Who is Robert Tate?
Robert Tate is a 9 season veteran of the National Football League. He was the 183rd pick in the 6th round of the 1997 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, who were led by Coach Dennis Green.
Drafted as a wide receiver, Robert Tate made the switch to defensive back midway through the 1999 season, and became the second player ever in Vikings history to record a pass reception and pass interception in the same season.
Robert left the Minnesota Vikings in 2002, and signed a one-year contract to play cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens, led by Coach Brian Billick for the 2002/2003 season. He spent one year out of professional football in 2003 before joining the Arizona Cardinals.
On February 26, 2004, Tate signed a one-year contract to play for the Cardinals, who were being led by Coach Green again, and went on to play three consecutive seasons as successful cornerback/kick-returner for the Cardinals. He retired from the league in 2007.
